I guess youre right Ballis. If Gods time schedule was based on such simplistic math I guess your averagely intelligent demon would have been able to work out the date. By the same token, if the outworking of "parallel" chronological calculations, (parallels that work out in fullfillment to the day) are able to be worked out by mere humans, then can there be any doubt the end date for the world would not be able to be worked out by intelligent spirit creatures? Surely evidence the Russellian"parallels" were bunkum all along.

All this of course 7 years after the "Lord came to his Temple" in 1918 and there are those good old parallel time dispensations still being applied as late as 1938.Amazing that when Solomon offered that prayer long ago, God put the words in his mouth so the remnant, in 1925, could fullfill what he said in antitype with their "message of hope" resolution.

It causes one to wonder when they finally fully abandoned trying to manifest parallel time fullfillments.

Well, of course, 6000 years of history ended, but thats not a significant spiritual event. Id say the "return" of Christ was a significant EVENT,and certainly those resurrected would consider the resurrection an important EVENT.But the passing of the 6000 year mark is not an EVENT in that nothing was caused to happen.It might be an anniversary but isnt a wedding or a birth.

1914 was such a year. The church in its overenthusiasm expected Armaggedon that year, but God planned that Jesus would "return" and assume authority in the heavenlies instead.

1918 was another year when the membership, longing urgently to see their Lord, misinterpreted events and expected Armaggedon. But Gods foreordained intent in 1918 was to cause the sleeping saints to rise.

We all know about 1925 and the expectation that Moses and King David would move into positions of service once brought back to life after the Big A. But according to the 1938 "Organization" Watchtower articles THe Lord caused his Antitypical Temple to be inaugurated in that year.

Then of course there was the great expectation of 1975.....What great spiritual event occured in that year?

someone left an 8 month old in a van all day..the day care worker forgot the little boy was there and didn't discover him until he went to go pick up kids from school... child found dead in vehicle .

There was a rash of these deaths here in Oz a while back. Mum was in the casino and was of oriental persuasion. Course, they didnt hang up pics of the parents, so we wouldnt draw any racial stereotype conclusions, lol. But apparently the oriental brethren have a great fondness for gambling , inordinantly more than the average whitey, and the kids boiled in the car while mum and dad played roulette.

Certainly, in management you can find yourself "out" for no good reason other than politics. The last place I was at doing all the purchasing for the plant, the CEO changed and, over 12 months, everyone in authority beneath the old CEO was eradicated. It was an education. It didnt matter how good they were, or how hopeless at their job.They went out the door anyway, starting at the top down. It was just a systematic eradication. So I know what you mean. Yeah, Im reluctant to take the position on, because the guy who just resigned was working 60 hours a week and getting crisis service phone calls at 11pm on Saturday night.His marriage practically fell apart.

Course, the guy was getting 60K a year. But if your working 60 hours a week for it your not much better off than anyone else are you.
